About Shilo Satran

Discover therapeutic solutions to your problems.

My thirst for learning and creative expression have led me on many adventures; books, travel, art, and life itself have been some of my best teachers. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Boise State University. Careers in mathematics and computer programming taught me to solve problems logically; life as an artist taught me to solve them creatively. Both have served me well in parenting, work, and, of course, relationships.

Like most of us, I’ve been in some dark places, struggling to make my way back out. Thankfully, I had the support of a therapist who showed me a path outside of squaring my shoulders and powering through. With her support, and a PTSD diagnosis, I learned to cope in entirely new ways. When I became dedicated to my own spiritual growth and healing through complex trauma, I knew that I would be able to help other people find their own paths to healthier and happier lives.

My passion to help people heal led me to John F. Kenney University, where I received a master’s degree in clinical psychology. As a lifelong learner, I continue to build upon what I learned in school, deepening my understanding of the human psyche, finding more effective ways to facilitate healing.

I currently live in Central Point, Oregon. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon, California and Tennessee. I hold the nationally recognized MAC (Masters in Addictions Counseling), and am a CADC III (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) in Oregon.

I work with individuals from the age of 17 up. My private practice is diverse; I welcome people of all races, religions, ethnicities and sexual orientation. I specialize in working with those with issues resulting from Trauma, PTSD, Attachment Styles and Divorce. I have extensive experience working with issues resulting from Depression, Anxiety, Family Conflict, Life Transitions, Parent/Child Conflict, Relationships, Poor Self Esteem, Stress, and Conflicted Spirituality.

My approach is based on empathy and compassion. I understand that trauma frequently leaves behind unseen scars, and I am here to provide steadfast support and a sympathetic ear to individuals going through challenging circumstances. My guiding principles center on establishing a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where all people can experience being seen, heard, and supported on their path to recovery.

My goal is to create an environment of healing and care where individuals can find strength and comfort in the midst of disaster. I am are here to support you at every turn, whether you’re attempting to overcome the difficulties of the present or dealing with the fallout from a traumatic experience.
