Together We Can Tackle
What’s Holding You Back

Discover therapeutic solutions to your problems.

“You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.”

Undoubtedly, the path has been paved with uncertainty, grief, and chaos following the difficulties we’ve faced in recent years.  It has been an extremely difficult period, characterized by everything from the COVID-19 pandemic to the damage caused by natural disasters including storms, flooding, tornadoes, and fires, as well as political and social instability.

Hi, I am Shilo Satran, a dedicated and experienced therapist specializing in trauma, PTSD, attachment disorders, and divorce. I am licensed and provide care in California, Tennessee, and Oregon. I care about you, your family, and your story. You can trust that I will treat you with respect, dignity and compassion in every interaction, while maintaining the highest standards for integrity and ethics.

Many of us have gone through severe traumas that resulted in the loss of homes, jobs, loved ones, and, in certain situations, stability and security. In the midst of it all, we feel alone and disoriented since the network of relationships that formerly provided comfort and support has torn.

Seeking comfort and healing from others during difficult times is a normal tendency. Events of 2020 and beyond have kept human interaction distanced. These obstacles have made it difficult for us to get the help and connections we need. These constant reminders of our limitations—whether they be masks we wear or physical barriers separating us or simply the ripple effects of social distancing—only make things worse. As a result, a lot of people struggle with emotions of loneliness and misery since they are unable to physically touch or share their grief with loved ones. I am here to help you.

Online PTSD Therapy

It seems sense that the prevalence of anxiety, sadness, and suicide has increased recently. There are moments when it seems impossible to overcome the combined weight of these societal traumas, our personal hardships, and our past experiences. But there’s hope even in the depths of gloom. Let me help you find that light.

EMDR Therapy

sipOne of my specialties is EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a treatment that offers hope to those who struggle to deal with the effects of traumatic events. EMDR, which was created by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, has received a lot of praise for being a life-changing therapy for a variety of mental health issues.

How Does EMDR Work?

EMDR skillfully combines novel bilateral stimulation methods, including rhythmic motions or side-to-side eye movements, with components of cognitive-behavioral treatment. This novel method aims to direct the brain’s processing of upsetting memories, so reducing their emotional impact and promoting flexibility.

In the course of an EMDR session, clients travel through multiple phases of transformation:

  • History-taking and treatment planning: therapists carefully comb through each client’s past, identifying events that are ready for processing.
  • Preparation: in order to handle any emotional upheaval that may occur during memory processing, clients are provided with stress-reduction techniques.
  • Evaluation: by identifying target memories together, we enable customers to assess the degree of related disturbances.
  • Desensitization: therapists assist clients in reprocessing specific memories by providing competent direction and bilateral stimulation, thereby progressively releasing them from their emotional hold.
  • Installation: clients are empowered to swap out negative self-perceptions for affirming ones as positive beliefs are strengthened.
  • Body scan: to ensure thorough processing of the targeted memories, clients concentrate on releasing any residual physical tension or discomfort.
  • Closure: relaxation techniques are used at the end of each session to promote a return to inner harmony.

What Diagnoses Are Treatable with EMDR?

Although EMDR was first developed for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it has demonstrated effectiveness for a variety of conditions, such as:

  • Trauma and PTSD: EMDR is excellent at easing the effects of abuse, trauma, and other upsetting experiences.
  • Anxiety Disorders: EMDR provides resilience and relief from anxiety disorders such as panic disorder, phobias, and generalized anxiety.
  • Depression: EMDR provides a path to recovery for those whose depression is linked to unresolved trauma.
  • Performance Anxiety: EMDR is prepared to release the hold of performance anxiety in a variety of contexts, including public speaking and sports.

Our goals with EMDR are diverse:

  • Successfully treat psychological problems
  • Ease suffering and bring about inner peace
  • Assist people in thinking deeply about difficult situations
  • Develop more flexible fundamental self-beliefs
  • Increase stability and resilience
